August here we COME!

Yes indeed.

Yesterday I had my 3000m race, which went OK. My and my 'sort of' training partner aim was to crack 12 minutes and we did. But on the last 3 laps when I tried to close the gap I found I couldn't- and I really, really wanted to. I don't know, but I think my hips just went really tight and I just couldn't move any faster. But I strived for a sprint finish, and got it. But the past is the past and I'll work on getting my pace up. Also it was the first time for me to run 3000m, and anything longer than 1500m on the track (I've run longer in cross-country). And because I've only got back to serious training last week- even better! And that race has also motivated me to keep on with the serious training. And I wish to train really hard this winter just to get back on track. Because I want it. Badly.

Besides running, I have other news. I have been stretching (1hr Tuesday, and 2hr yesterday because of the race) and am going to keep on stretching. Turns out I really enjoy stretching, even though some stretches can be horrible to do! Maybe I'll post my daily stretching routine sometime.

And also the new blogilates calendar starts today! Woohoo! And it's even better than before! Go check it out- it's awesome! Sign up to the newsletter and you'll get to know the password to unlock the calendar. Trust me you'll love blogilates! Cassey is just so motivating and inspiring. Her workouts are the best.

I have also been doing some pointe work exercises and they're coming on well.

Same things today as every other day, but we're going to a water park tomorrow because my sister's having a friend over and so we have to take them somewhere!

So far...so not good

I'm going to forget about last week because I didn't do absolutely anything in relation to ballet. Not one single thing!

But as it is a new week and today is (really, even though I've had 6 days already) the official start to the Summer holidays. So today I'm actually going to do something.

And to push me on and motivate me, I'm going to write about my day, daily. I should probably do this at the end of the day but oh well, just for today! :-

Woke up at 8:37 but I snoozed for an hour, but finally I went downstairs to eat breakfast (cereal, orange juice and toast). Then my sister and I just fantasized over a new Johnnie B catalog that just arrived for like an hour. But at 10:30 I had to get dressed because I had a harp lesson at 11:00. After my harp lesson finished (12:00) I arrived home and I had a cup of tea (what an exciting life!) and a nectarine. At about 12:30 I went on the computer to finish a project, (more later). And uh yeah. Now I'm blogging.

BUT later today I'm going to practice the piano, finish one section of my theory, finish my project. Which is not really a project but it is something to do. It's basically a collage of quotes and pictures on my wall. Because my wall is reaaaaally boring at the moment!

Then later I am going to stretch and do some pointe work. Then later I have to go for a 10 min slow jog (warm down from my speed training yesterday) to get rid of any lactic acid in my body. Because I have a 3k race Wednesday, plus I am currently training for the cross-country season. I need to really train insane because I missed last track season and cross-country season due to a foot injury and I haven't really been running hard since.

And then I have a singing lesson tonight at 5:30, so everything must be completed by then because I'm not back until 7:00. And at 7:00 I'll be just winding down- actually I'll probably be going for a jog then, and doing some blogilates workouts. And then of course stretching again.

My day. So exciting.

Not.

Tomorrow will be much the same but with less exercising because tomorrow's supposed to by my 'rest day' so probably just stretching some more and relaxing, (and a harp-group!), and much the same throughout Wednesday too, because my race isn't until 5:30, although we have to be there by 4:00. I'm not worried about it because I have never done a 3k race before but it will be a good training session for the winter where I'll be running a lot of 4.2 and 2.8.

And then Thursday the new blogilates calendar starts! So I will probably do that Thursday, along with stretching and a warm-down jog. Oh, and also a singing lesson (competition coming up next week!!).

I'll try to keep blogging every day!

Summer GoalsSummer Goals

Last ballet class last night until September! I have started grade 6 and have learned the free movement already, including the study! Looks as if I'll be doing grade 6 next year, then!

My goal over the summer: Improve my pointe work.

And also break in my pointe shoes...Even though I've had them for like...6 months! So I desperately need to do that.

For pointe work I want to be able to dance for a reasonable time AWAY from the bar, and not seem like I'm gripping on for dear life at the bar...You should see me, seriously!

Also I want to be way, way more flexible so I'm going to force myself to stretch for an hour every day- whenever I can, really! I really badly want my splits.

I am seriously going to work on my running too, ready for the cross-country season October. I missed last year's cross-country season because I had to rest due to a foot injury.

Also I want to be stronger so I will be doing Cassey's workouts every day!

SO, to recap my Summer Goals:-

  • Break in my pointe shoes
  • Improve my pointe work- being able to dance for a reasonable time en pointe; confident away from the bar
  • Improve my flexibility- closer to the splits (and also closer to doing a needle, tilt and many moves I can't do now due to bad flexibility)
  • Work hard on my running, get my stamina and endurance up
  • Do the blogilates workouts every day
  • Healthier diet
And also, be sure to check out the updated version of my stretches on my stretches page, and try out the different smoothies, drinks and shakes on my smoothie page!

More recipes, workouts and pics coming soon!

#thisisMYJuly

So I've been following blogilates for the past month, but haven't really committed much. But I have to start somewhere!

So I've missed last week because I had exams (school, piano and ballet- discuss in next post!)
And a bit of this week because I've just been exhausted, but now? I'm ready to start, along with daily stretching to improve my flexibility (which is rubbish!).

These are the pop HIIT printables so far from Blogilates!

Am going to try her cheap clean eats as well- look and sound delicious (Her YouTube Channel)

Go Checkout Blogilates!

So, I haven't posted in a while- but I've been SUPER busy! But, in my spare time, I came across an AMAZING youtuber ( and blogger, instagrammer, etc).
Her YouTube channel is full of hardcore, intense workouts, + some amazing recipes! On top of that her blog is WOW and she designs a calendar for beginners and old hands alike, every single month!!
She is Cassie Ho, owner of Blogilates. She's a certified Pilates instructor and she is always SO HAPPY,  and she makes EVERYTHING look soooo easy! So head over to her blog right now an make sure you sign up for her newsletter where you find out what are the passwords to view & print the calendars.
www.blogilates.com
www.blogilates.tumblr.com
Search "blogilates" on YouTube (you MUST SUBSCRIBE- new workouts every Monday, new recipes every Thursday)
She also has an Instagram, twitter and many other accounts (the information will be on her blog and YouTube channel!)

I came across her when I was searching for a "How to do the splits" video on YouTube, and so I clicked on her tutorial- and, although it was slightly crazy with her in the middle of London doing the splits, with an audience, it was really helpful and after browsing through her channel some more, I subscribed, and now I'm hooked!

This afternoon, I completed day 15 on this month's calendar. I was shaking soooo bad! Every inch of me was out of control, seriously! Today, which is Saturday, concentrated on arms and abs, and I must say my arms are a bit of a weak spot for me, with not needing much arm strength for running or ballet!

And WOW, now I'm just feeling so great, even though I had a race yesterday of 1500m. Great doesn't necessarily mean strong though because I'm kind of really weak right now...

But anyway! Hope you like Blogilates as much as I do!

Who heart's food?!

My first healthy food post! All of these recipes are not mine, remember, and credit to the people who created them! I could not track the owners of most of them, but some are from Instagram accounts that I follow (e.g. @fit4dancers). All of these recipes will be posted here first and then copied on to my new Recipes page!

This recipe (whipped strawberry lemonade) looks AMAZING and so appetising! What's more, it's much healthier than the sort you'd buy in shops, and contains no fat, and only 89 calories, and it doesn't include sugar!

Delicious! Must try!

MORE Quotes

I love quotes- I mean, how do people even come up with them? They're like comebacks, to some extent, and I'm as rubbish as thinking of a clever comeback as I am of thinking of a clever quote!
I especially love the running more one- it's so true! Practice makes perfect!

The Art of Ballet

These productions are amazing!
I've seen Swan Lake  and The Nutcracker LIVE, and also I've seen The Nutcracker Live from the Royal Opera House in the Cinema, and that was really cool, actually! I'd sooo do that again.
I actually cried in Swan Lake because it was so beautiful and sad :'(
The Nutcracker pictures are from the actual production I saw (but, sadly, I didn't take them!) and I'm not sure about the others. One show I would love to see is The Firebird- it's apparently amazing!
